SEABREEZE BAMBOO

Seabreeze, scientifically known as Bambusa malingensis, is a robust and fast-growing bamboo species characterized by its attractive blue-white canes. Originating from Southern China, it is particularly well-suited for coastal regions in Florida, Texas, and Southern California due to its resilience against high winds and salty breezes. This makes it an excellent choice for use as a windbreak.
Bambusa malingensis can endure temperatures down to 20 degrees Fahrenheit and can grow up to 40 feet tall. As a mid-sized bamboo variety, it develops into a graceful, umbrella-shaped arch when mature, with minimal lower branches that allow the striking canes to be prominently displayed.
This bamboo is a tight clumping type that does not invade surrounding areas and features small green leaves. Its straight culms form dense clusters ideal for creating privacy screens from noisy roads or neighbors or concealing unsightly yard equipment within just one year.
Seabreeze is adaptable to both drought and flooding conditions while offering numerous benefits such as salt tolerance, wind resistance, and aesthetic appeal. It quickly forms a compact hedge that can either be maintained at a specific height or allowed to reach its full potential height.
